The new Milence electric truck charging location will be located in Åstorp near the E4 highway and will initially have four CCS charging stations, each with a capacity of up to 400 kW. In the second phase, an expansion to eleven charging stations is planned. MCS chargers will then also be made available. This latest charging stop for trucks is located in a newly built logistics centre in Helsingborg, close to the E4 motorway, which is the main logistics route to Stockholm.

The company says it plans to install Megawatt Charging System (MCS) chargers at the hub in Åstorp “as soon as the technology becomes available for faster and even more reliable charging.” But things will move quickly as the trucking industries scurry to decarbonise activities. Just a few days ago, Kempower announced it will be supplying its megawatt charging solutions to Hedin Supercharge in Linköping, Sweden. Before the end of this year, the site will be one of the first in the world to use Kempower’s sistema de carga MCS recientemente introducido.

For Milence in Sweden, the first and second electric truck charging parks were announced just over a month ago, with the first location planned in Varberg between Gothenburg and Malmö and the second planned between Malmo and Stockholm. Just a couple of weeks ago, Milence finally announced a charging park in Germany. The electric truck charging stop in Vockerode is due to open in July 2024. It is strategically located on the A9 motorway between Berlin and Leipzig and thus on the Scandinavian-Mediterranean corridor. Earlier in May this year, the electric truck charging joint venture announced another location being built in Perpignan in the south of France to go online in September 2024. This will be Milence’s second French site after Heudebouville in Normandy.

Milence says it is building a reliable charging network for all battery-electric heavy-duty trucks and coaches, regardless of brand. By 2027, the electric truck charging joint venture aims to have at least 1,700 high-performance charging points across Europe.
