Commenting on the new funding, Jacky Perrenot said it was a “significant aggrandisement” and that it was just a part of its overall investment in cutting carbon emissions by 30% by 2030.
Current initiatives also include CNG vehicles. JP added that it will operate its first hydrogen-powered vehicle by year-end, with additional FCEV trucks slated for 2024 and 2025 as part of various projects, including Hyammed, Hyzone, R’Hyse, and Corridor H2.
The company has not released further details on the choice of vehicles but has been working with Renault Trucks on a refrigerated body for an all-electric E-Tech D Wide 26-tonne truck. The partners extended the cooperation only this month.
Jacky Perrenot was founded in 2012 with headquarters in Saint-Donat-sur-l’Herbasse in the Département of Drôme. The group claimed a more than one billion euros turnover in 2022 in France. JP employs 10,000 people in 145 European branches.
