Renault Trucks lanza el primer BEV de construcción

After launching a complete range of electric vehicles for distribution transport, Renault Trucks is now producing its first electric construction site truck. For the time being, the vehicle is still a one-off.

The Noblet Group will receive this D Wide Z.E., which is equipped with a tipper body and crane. The vehicle is equipped with four 66 kWh battery packs. The 26-tonne truck will be delivered with a steered rear axle in the 6×2 configuration, Renault Trucks said in the statement. From the base model, the construction site vehicle also inherits the 22 kW AC and 150 kW DC charging system.

Renault Trucks does not mention any other technical data in the announcement. Instead, the manufacturer lists some of the advantages of e-worksite vehicles, such as the lower noise and CO2 pollution for workers and residents or the locally emission-free journey to the construction site.

For good reason, because for the customer Noblet, a rental company for construction machinery and vehicles, precisely such points were apparently decisive. “Some clients in certain cities in the Paris region, for specific worksites, will be ready to pay more for equipment that is mainly carbon-free and, above all, silent,” explains Noblet president Laurent Galle. “Moreover, in France, we benefit from additional depreciation which represents just over 10% of the purchase price.”

As yet, however, it is apparently a one-off for Noblet. It is not clear from the press release whether the French company intends to place further orders and whether Renault also intends to build the electric worksite trucks in larger numbers.
