Keysight Technologies has signed a cooperation agreement with ElringKlinger within the field of battery development for electric vehicles. Specifically, ElringKlinger uses Keysight’s Scienlab battery test systems to expand its development capacity.

These enable ElringKlinger to test and validate cells in greater detail to identify the most effective combination of cells for the intended end-customer application, as announced by the supplier. It will also enable the company to further accelerate battery development and supply customers with “highly efficient and reliable battery systems” quickly and cost-effectively.

ElringKlinger has set up a tailor-made laboratory and uses “the entire range of Scienlab battery test systems” including the safety environment for testing battery cells, modules and packs. Besides, the test and control software ‘Energy Storage Discover’, as well as cloud-based software for managing resources, hardware and devices to be tested, will be used the company announced.

Based in a small town near Stuttgart, ElringKlinger is a major automotive supplier focusing on lightweight construction, sealing and shielding systems, tool technology and engineering services. Within the field of electromobility, ElringKlinger offers battery products, but the supplier focuses primarily on fuel cells and has entered into several cooperative ventures within this area in recent weeks – with Airbus, VDL y Omnium de plástico.
