Leapmotor doubles UK purchase rebate for T03 EV
Launched last year, Leapmotor’s ‘LEAP-GRANT’ scheme initially aimed to bring down the cost of its T03 and C10 BEVs for UK customers – at a time when the UK government was shaking up its Electric Car Grant scheme, leaving some car purchases ineligible for subsidies.
At the time, the ‘LEAP-GRANT’ offered customers a rebate of £1500 off the £15,995 T03, bringing the OTR price down to £14495. Now, that rebate has been increased to £3000 – bringing the OTR price of the T03 down to £12,995.
According to the Stellantis-owned brand, this is to ‘celebrate’ the first anniversary of its LEAP-GRANT scheme, and to mark more than 10,000 registrations of the T03 since its UK launch.
Calling the T03 “the most affordable new EV in the UK”, Damien Dally, Leapmotor UK Managing Director, said: “When we launched our industry-first LEAP-GRANT a year ago, we offered simplicity, clarity, and financial savings for customers left confused and in limbo by the Government’s own scheme […] While other cars in the segment might come close on price, they don’t compare when it comes to the level of technology and specification we offer on the T03 as standard”
Leapmotor currently offers three electric vehicle models in the UK: the T03, the C10. and more recently, the New B10. The T03 is a compact five-door model in the A-segment. It has a battery capacity of 37.3 kWh and a range of 165 miles, according to WLTP. Leapmotor describes the car as a “compact hatchback that delivers B-segment space and practicality at an A-segment price.”
Meanwhile, the C10 is a large D-segment SUV with a 69.9 kWh battery and 160 kW motor power, featuring a WLTP range of 263 miles. Additionally, the B10 is Leapmotor’s first model in the high-volume compact class. It comes with an LFP battery with an energy content of 56.2 kWh, with a range of approx. 361km.
