UK: MY27 Polestar 4 gets an upgrade

Polestar has opened order books for the updated Polestar 4 in the UK. The 2027 model year introduces chassis revisions for both rear-motor and dual-motor variants, a reduced cradle-to-gate carbon footprint and a revised model and trim structure. Prices start at £56,750.

The technical updates focus primarily on the chassis. According to Polestar, engineers have recalibrated the suspension setup and fitted high-capacity passive dampers, revised springs and updated anti-roll bars. The company has also replaced the internal rebound coil springs with polyurethane rebound stops and says the changes improve steering precision.

Polestar has simplified the model range for MY27. Customers can now choose between Rear motor, Dual motor and Dual motor with Performance pack variants. The company has also aligned the trim structure across the range, with Business and Prime specifications available for both rear- and dual-motor models.

The Business trim adds driver assistance features including Pilot Assist, Lane Change Assist and Park Assist Pilot, as well as rear privacy glass.

Prime builds on the Business specification with additional comfort and technology features. These include a Harman Kardon audio system, head-up display, illuminated Star Knit door panels, a rear control screen, 12-way electrically adjustable seats with easy ingress and egress functionality, reclining and heated rear seats, three-zone climate control and a PM2.5 particulate filtration system. Exterior equipment includes Pixel LED headlights with adaptive high-beam functionality, an illuminated Polestar logo and a power-operated tailgate with foot-sensor activation.

Polestar has also introduced clearer visual differentiation between the powertrain variants. Rear-motor models feature black accents, dual-motor versions combine black and gold elements, while vehicles equipped with the Performance pack receive Swedish gold highlights.

Alongside the product updates, Polestar reports a further reduction in the vehicle’s carbon footprint. For UK-delivered vehicles, the cradle-to-gate carbon footprint is now 19.4 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent for rear-motor variants and 20.3 tonnes for dual-motor models. Compared with the launch specification, the dual-motor version has reduced its carbon footprint by 1.1 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent.

The updated Polestar 4 is available to order in the UK from £56,750 for the rear-motor variant and from £63,750 for the dual-motor version.

Michael Lohscheller, Polestar CEO, said: “The upgraded Polestar 4 coupé is better than ever, offering a more refined ride with enhanced driving pleasure, and stronger sustainability credentials. Overall, the Polestar 4 coupé delivers an even more compelling package without compromise.”
