Recently, Thailand received its first batch of the 6e’s RHD version, comprising 500 units. These cars arrived at Laem Chabang Port in Sriracha (Chonburi Province), and Mazda will soon begin delivering them to customers following the completion of formalities, possibly at the beginning of July.

Mazda manufactures the 6e under a joint venture with Changan in Nanjing (Jiangsu Province), China, where the car was introduced as the ‘EZ-6’ in 2024. While the joint venture company in China offers it in pure electric and extended range electric variants, Mazda has introduced only the former in Thailand, and that, too, in a single technical configuration.

The Thai-spec 6e (TH) uses a rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor that develops 190kW and 290Nm of torque, along with a 77.9kWh LFP battery pack. In this configuration, it can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 7.9 seconds, reach a maximum speed of 175km/h, and travel up to 560 km on a single charge, as per WLTP.

The 77.9 kWh LFP battery pack supports charging at up to 11kW (AC)/190kW (DC). Fully charging it via an AC charger takes 7 hours and 53 minutes, while via a DC charger, a 10 to 80 per cent session takes 24 minutes. Mazda gives a choice of two equipment lines: Premium and Exclusive, priced at 1.169 million baht (€30,870) and 1.199 million baht (31,662 euros), respectively.

In Australia, local reports say Mazda plans to commence deliveries of the 6e in July. The company’s projections estimate a monthly sales volume of over 300 units for the new EV.CarExpert reports that it has 715 pre-orders in Australia, 54 per cent of which are from first-time Mazda customers. In the UK, Mazda earlier said it would open sales of the 6e this summer.
