Leapmotor launches B05 electric hatchback in the UK from £28,995
Without the grant, the on-the-road price stands at £30,495. Order books for the B05 will open in early July through Leapmotor UK’s retail network, with first customer deliveries scheduled for late July 2026. The carmaker first launched the B05 in Europe in April.
The B05 follows Leapmotor’s single-trim strategy already used for its other European models. The hatchback comes exclusively in one configuration featuring a 67.1 kWh battery, and the rear-axle-mounted electric motor delivers 160 kW. The B05 goes from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 6.7 seconds. According to the manufacturer, the B05 achieves a WLTP range of up to 300 miles. DC charging is possible at up to 174 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 30 to 80 per cent in 17 minutes. The vehicle uses Leapmotor’s Cell-to-Chassis (CTC2.0+) battery integration technology.
Leapmotor says the B05 achieves a drag coefficient of 0.26 through aerodynamic measures, including flush door handles, integrated air curtains and an active front grille. The model also features frameless doors.
Inside, the B05 comes with a 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, an 8.8-inch instrument cluster and Leap OS 4.0 Plus with over-the-air updates. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included as standard, alongside wireless smartphone charging and a 12-speaker audio system. Standard equipment also includes a panoramic sunroof, 19-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, heated steering wheel and electrically adjustable front seats.
The B05 is also the first Leapmotor model to feature 21 driver assistance systems supporting Level 2 semi-autonomous driving functions. Systems include adaptive cruise control, automatic lane change, blind spot detection and autonomous emergency braking. The vehicle uses 14 sensors and cameras, including surround-view cameras and radar systems.
