Dongfeng debuts Nammi 06 electric SUV

Dongfeng has just unveiled its new compact electric SUV at Auto Shanghai, with pre-sales due to start later in April. It's based on the Dongfeng Quantum Architecture Platform 3 and will initially only be sold in China.

It’s the second model of its subcompact Nammi brand, and will be positioned above the Nammi Box (aka Nammi 01) which went on sale in Europe last year. As the Nammi 01 was eventually exported outside of China, it’s likely that that the Nammi 06 will someday make its way to Europe as well.

First revealed in February, the 4.3m-long Nammi 06 is roughly the same size as the Nissan Kicks – so unlike the compact Nammi Box, the 06 is more of a crossover SUV. According to CarNewsChina, the company applied for a sales licence in China earlier this year, which mentioned a starting price of 100,000 yuan (~$12,000 EUR) when the car sees its official launch later in 2025.

The Nammi 06 features a single electric motor with a peak output of 135kW and a top speed of 150km/h, all via front wheel drive (FWD).

Battery-wise, it’s said to be kitted out with a Mach E battery with 3C fast-charging technology, which can charge from 30 to 80 per cent in 18 minutes. That roughly translates to about 62 miles of range in 5 minutes of charging. However, there is currently no further information about the battery’s energy content even on the company’s Chinese website.

On the exterior, the Nammi 06 features angular lines and a closed front grille, as well as crossover styling features such as wide black wheel arches and a silver rear trim piece. It will be available in six colours – namely Wave White, Silver, Support Orange, Wild Green, Paint Yellow, and Cyber Black.

Inside, the cabin measures 4.3m in length, is 1.8m wide, and 1.6m high with a wheelbase of 2.7m. It’s got a floating centre touchscreen as well as a digital instrument panel. On top of that, it’s also got 50W wireless phone charging, a panoramic sun roof, and foldable seats that can lay flat. Finally, the Nammi 06 will feature driver assist tools such as highway and city memory navigation, tracking reverse, and parking assistance.
