Tesla offer lower-priced version of Model Y Juniper in North America
Tesla charges $48,990 for the ‘Long Range All-Wheel Drive’ in the US. On its website, Tesla advertises the variant at a much lower price point, namely $41,490. This price already includes the $7,500 US Federal Tax Credit, which US President Donald Trump is apparently looking to scrap. In Canada, the model sells for 69,990 Canadian dollars.
Currently, the ‘Long Range All-Wheel Drive’ is the only variant of the Juniper facelift available in North America. It is significantly cheaper than the previously available ‘Launch Edition’, which cost $59,990 in the US – and came with similar features to the ‘Long Range All-Wheel Drive’, but with added extras such as Full Self-Driving, which otherwise costs an additional $8,000.
Interestingly, there is also a little more choice in the US neighbouring country of Mexico. In addition to the ‘Long Range All-Wheel Drive’ for 949,000 pesos (approx. 41,500 euros), the ‘Rear-Wheel Drive’ variant is also available there for 849,000 pesos (approx. 37,200 euros).
But back to the US: the delivery time is expected to be between one and three weeks. The new price of $48,990 for the Long Range All-Wheel Drive is $1,000 higher than for the previous version of the Model Y. Also new in the range is a new colour variant called Diamond Black, which is now also available for the Model 3.
Tesla presented the facelift of the Model Y in January. The new front end with its continuous light bar may not appeal to everyone. It is similar to the Cybertruck and is said to be more aerodynamic than the old design. The curved roofline remains almost the same, but the new boot lid, spoiler and rear bumper have also been designed to improve aerodynamic efficiency. Tesla is also proud of the LED bar at the rear.
