Lucid sets new delivery record – albeit narrowly

US electric carmaker Lucid Motors has released its production and delivery figures for the first quarter of 2025. Lucid manufactured 2,212 vehicles and delivered 3,109 vehicles between January and March.

That is a new record for deliveries, albeit only by ten vehicles compared to Q4 2024. At that time, Lucid delivered 3,099 vehicles – and also manufactured 3,386 new electric cars. In total, the company produced 9,029 vehicles in 2024, but 10,241 Lucids were delivered due to the inventory from 2023.

That means production in the first three months of the year fell by more than 1,100 units compared to the fourth quarter, even though Lucid now manufactures a second model, the electric SUV Gravity. In fact, Lucid’s first quarter 2025 production is roughly on par with its second quarter 2024 production.

The numbers are actually a bit better than what Lucid reports: there are still over 600 more vehicles in transit to the Lucid factory in Saudi Arabia. The US company opened a factory in King Abdullah Economic City in September 2023 for final vehicle assembly. This semi-knocked-down (SKD) assembly relies on pre-assembled kits from the Lucid factory in Arizona – the cars are completely manufactured there and then partially taken apart again for export. However, they are only included in the production statistics once they have been finally assembled in the Lucid factory in Arizona.
