Mobilize to build 100 new charging locations in France this year
Its Mobilize Fast Charge stations are fitted with chargers that deliver up to 320kW of power, which the company claims can provide as much as 400km of charge range in around 15 minutes. They work with the Plug & Charge service, which enables users to start charging compatible vehicles automatically without needing to present a payment card.
For the first two months that each new location is open, Mobilize runs a promotional rate of €0.41/kWh for card payments, while Renault Group customers with a Mobilize Charge Pass can access a rate of €0.39/kWh for one year.
Over the next year and a half, Mobilize is set to grow its network in Belgium and Spain, which it says are two target markets for Renault Group’s vehicles. On top of this, Mobilize also owns a stake in Free to X – a subsidiary of the Italian motorway operator Autostrade per l’Italia – which gives it access to a network of 104 fast-charging locations across Italy. By the end of 2028, Mobilize hopes to operate a total of 650 charging hubs in France, Belgium, Italy, and Spain.
Anne-Cécile Bonneville, Fast Charge Director at Mobilize, said: “In light of the electrification of the European vehicle fleet, we are committed to an ambitious expansion of our charging station network to address the increasing need for infrastructure.”
Mobilize sits under the Renault Group umbrella and was launched with the goal of opening more than 90 charging sites in France and 200 across Europe. Currently, the company states it has 25 locations in France. Its charging hubs utilise intelligent load management systems combined with retired EV batteries and occasionally solar panels. Many of these locations include a lounge area with refreshments, bathrooms, Wi-Fi and call boxes.
