Farizon mass-produces first units of its H2 truck in China

The first 100 units of Farizon's Xinghan G 200kW hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty truck have rolled off the production line in China. It is thus the first series-produced H2 truck in the country.

The milestone was reported by local media. According to the latter, Farizon plans to build a total of 600 units of the Xinghan G at its Tianjin factory. The first batch will be delivered to customers this month. They will, for example, go to the Tianjin Port and the Huanghua Port.

The hydrogen fuel cell truck sits on the manufacturer’s GXA-T platform and is designed for long-haul transportation. According to the portal China Trucks, it has a range of more than 700 kilometres and a 62 kg hydrogen storage system. It is also fitted with an electric motor with a peak power output of 450 kW.

In Europe, the Geely subsidiary Farizon is mostly known for its all-electric Homtruck, which it unveiled in 2021. Moreover, at the IAA Transportation in Germany in September 2024, the Chinese manufacturer signed its first German customer, Duvenbeck. The logistics company ordered 50 units of the Homtruck, which should be delivered this year.

The Geely brand also recently launched its electric vans in Europe. The details can be found in this article.

It is not clear whether the Xinghan G is headed for Europe anytime soon – if at all. What is certain is that Farizon continues to focus on different alternative drive trains. That is also why the Xinghan G is available as a battery-electric, methanol-hydrogen, and hydrogen fuel cell variant.
