VW Commercial Vehicles to introduce new ID. Buzz variant in the UK
According to VW Commercial Vehicles UK, the 4Motion all-wheel drive versions are the latest addition to the brand’s all-electric van lineup, which means there is now “an ID. Buzz Cargo for every operator.” It runs on a smaller 59kWh battery, which allows for an WLTP range of up to 200 miles. The battery can be charged at up to 165kW, charging from 5 to 80% in about 30 minutes.
In terms of storage space, the ID. Buzz Cargo offers the same 3.9m3 cargo capacity as the rest of ID. Buzz Cargo lineup. Space enough to “accommodate two Euro pallets loaded widthways.” A 125 kW drive system provides a payload up to 692kg, and the electric transporter can tow up to 1,000kg.
Prices for the new ID. Buzz variant start from £35,960, the ID. Buzz Cargo 59kWh is available to order from 5 March, with customer deliveries expected to start in late spring 2025. For now, the ID. Buzz Cargo Commerce 59kWh is only available in the ‘Commerce’ trim, and customers benefit from an ongoing partnership with energy provider OVO.
Last month, Volkswagen UK also announced a rebate for all ID vehicle models in the UK, likely due to flagging sales. In December last year, Volkswagen announced plans to relocate production of the ID. Buzz to its factory in Poland.
