Launched in 2020, the two-door Wuling Hongguang Mini EV has long been one of China’s most popular electric cars and has already sold 1.5 million units. The vehicle has also been available as a convertible since 2022 – and now a four-door version is also being added.

Announced back in December 2024, SAIC-GM-Wuling has already received 20,000 pre-orders for the four-door model. Now, sales of the model, which is 3.26 meters long, 1.51 meters wide, and 1.58 meters high, have officially begun. The wheelbase is 2.19 meters. The four-door Hongguang Mini EV offers a more spacious interior and a more pleasant travel experience for second-row passengers.

The amount of space has also been optimised compared to the two-door model. The new variant has a boot capacity of 123 litres, which increases to 745 litres with the rear seats folded down.

According to the Chinese testing cycle, the range is 205 kilometres. Power consumption is 8.9 kWh/100 km. The EV can be plugged into the household socket, and it can be charged at the fast charger. The manufacturer states that with the standard DC fast charging function, the battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in 35 minutes.

The vehicle has an extensive range of active and passive safety features. These include driver and front passenger airbags, an electronic stability program (ESC), an ‘Autohold’ system and an electronic parking brake, a high-resolution reversing camera and the tried-and-tested Shenlian battery from Wuling with zero self-ignition.
