Investors included several longtime shareholders, as well as Iberdrola (via its subsidiary Inversiones Financieras Perseo, S.L.), Orilla Asset Management, as well as Wallbox founder and CEO Enric Asunción.

Wallbox announced in August 2024 that it had secured 45 million dollars in investment. Just like this time, the company said it would use the money to increase sales, especially in the North American market.

“This investment reinforces our mission to make EV charging more accessible worldwide while driving operational efficiency and financial sustainability,” said Enric Asuncion, CEO and co-founder of Wallbox. “Our shareholders’ continued support reflects their confidence in our long-term vision and strategic direction. As we expand our global presence, this funding will help us on our journey to profitability and solidifies our leadership in the EV charging industry.”

“We believe this investment will strengthen Wallbox’s cash position to execute the company’s business plan, reinforcing its commitment to accelerate the global shift toward clean energy and sustainable mobility”, said David Mesonero, Global Head of Corporate Development, Strategic Partnerships and M&A of Iberdrola. “By supporting Wallbox’s growth, we remain committed to advancing electrification solutions worldwide.”

The company will announce its financial figures for the year 2024 tomorrow, 26 February 2025.

The Spanish company recently launched the next generation of its Supernova DC fast charging station. And German manufacturer ABL added it to its portfolio at the end of last year.

The charging station has two charging points and is available in three power levels of 75, 150 or 220 kW. Six independent power modules are said to ensure easy maintenance and maximum uptime. In addition, the modular design allows the charging capacity to be increased at a later date. The power modules are installed in the column, making it an all-in-one product – an external control cabinet is not required.

The Supernova 220 offers a touchscreen user interface, and ‘various’ contactless payment options are available for billing charging processes – depending on the version selected by the charging point operator, ABL explained at the time.
