Technotrans receives follow-up order for battery cooling for electric buses
Technotrans writes that the order volume is in the double-digit million euro range this time. The electric bus manufacturer is thus securing its total requirements for 2025 at an early stage. As is customary in the supplier industry, Technotrans does not disclose the name of the customer.
The original order dates back to May 2024, when the customer placed a major order in the “high single-digit million euro” range. As stated in 2024 and now, Technotrans “will continue to supply three production sites for electrified buses in France and the Czech Republic.” That makes Daimler Buses and Iveco Bus possible customers, as both companies have plants in these countries. The first follow-up order was placed in September, again in the single-digit million euro range.
The battery thermal management systems (BTMS) developed by Technotrans play an important role in the reliable temperature control of the battery in electric buses – and thus in their safe operation. If the batteries are too cold or too warm, the service life of the power storage units can be affected, and the charging performance is also reduced. As a result, recharging the needed energy for further operation during the planned charging break may not be possible. However, the BTMS keeps the battery temperature in the right range.
“The renewed major order strengthens our market position and demonstrates the trust placed in our technology and performance capabilities,” says Michael Finger, CEO of Technotrans SE. “By committing to us at an early stage, the customer underlines the strategic relevance of our solutions and our leading technological expertise.”
