Kempower launches improved Station Charger on the market
With the ‘Station Charger,’ the power modules are integrated into the charging station’s housing, unlike with the company’s satellite system. The fast charger is available in two versions (500 and 800 V) and has charging capacities of 50 to 400 kW. In addition to two dedicated DC charging points (CCS or/and CHAdeMO), up to two Satellite columns or DC wallboxes ‘Kempower Control Unit’ can also be supplied.
What is new, however, is the use of the new ‘Kempower V2 Power Module.’ By integrating the V2 module, the housing structure of the charging station is said to have been redesigned and adapted to the current Kempower Power Unit to ensure better cooling, air filtration and environmental compatibility. However, this is not explained in more detail.
In addition, the Finnish charging station manufacturer’s High Power Charger is said to have improved energy measurement functions. “Customers who require precise monitoring of their DC charging operations will benefit from the inclusion of both DC and AC energy meters. This feature ensures accurate tracking and reporting of energy usage, supporting more efficient and transparent energy management,” writes Kempower. However, the manufacturer leaves the extent to which the energy measurement functions have been improved open.
The new features, including improved cooling, advanced energy measurement, and modular design, ensure that our Station Charger meets the evolving needs of the EV industry,” says Kempower’s Chief Markets Officer Jussi Vanhanen.
