India: Vayve Mobility launches Eva with a solar roof at Auto Expo 2025
Vayve Mobility is building the Eva on a skateboard platform and offers it in Nova, Stella, and Vega grades, with IP67-rated 9 kWh, 12.6 kWh, and 18 kWh LFP battery packs, respectively. The 18 kWh battery pack has liquid cooling, while the 9 kWh and 12.6 kWh battery packs settle for normal air cooling, which typically limits performance and charging speed.
The 9 kWh and 12.6 kWh battery packs operate at just 48 volts and do not support DC charging. Through an AC charger, both variants take five hours to charge from 10% to 90%. The 18 kWh battery pack operates at 320 volts, and it takes 20 minutes for a 10-70% DC charging session and five hours for a 10-90% AC charging session. Five minutes of DC charging adds a range of 50 km, more than enough for a day’s use in the city.
A permanent magnet synchronous motor, mounted at the rear, develops 12 kW in the Nova and Stella grades and 15 kW in the Vega grade. The Nova and Stella grades reach a top speed of just 60 kph and travel 125 km and 175 km on a full charge, respectively. The Vega grade has a higher top speed of 60 kph and a far more practical range – 250 km. It accelerates from 0 to 40 kph in five seconds.
All three trims support a roof-mounted solar panel. Vayve Mobility offers it as an option worth 19,999 Indian rupees (223 euros) on the Nova and Stella trims and 24,999 Indian rupees (279 euros) on the Vega trim. The solar roof gives the Eva up to 10-12 km of additional range and allows customers to drive it up to 3,000 km annually without any charging cost.

Vayve Mobility configures the Nova equipment line’s motor to run exclusively in Eco mode to extract the maximum range. The Stella equipment line gives the driver a choice of two modes – Eco and City, and the Vega equipment line adds a third option – Sport. Similarly, only the Stella and Vega equipment lines allow the driver to adjust the intensity of regenerative braking.
Design & features
Measuring just 3,060 mm in length, 1,150 mm in width, and 1,590 mm in height, the Eva is an EV Vayve Mobility designed to easily navigate narrow and congested city streets. With its particularly small dimensions, peculiar proportions, and tiny wheels—12 or 13 inches, depending on the grade, the Eva resembles quadricycles. Despite its unconventional proportions, the two-door EV boasts an attractive exterior for its category.
At the front, the Eva has a curvaceous and sporty bumper, a short hood, and an angled windshield. A slim daytime running light strip stretches across the entire width, and instead of headlamps, separate turn indicators follow below. The headlamps sit far lower, inside the bumper.

On the sides, a raked A-pillar, a rising belt line, an upswept character line, sleek windows, and wheels featuring an aerodynamic cover and a red accent give the Eva a stylish appearance. At the rear, the bumper looks similar to the front one and the tailgate features a gloss black finish in the middle. The tail light stretches across the width, matching the design of the headlamps. Similarly, the turn signals sit separately, located below the light band.
The Eva has a 2,200 mm wheelbase and accommodates just three people – a driver in the front and two passengers in the back. The driver sits in the centre and the passengers access the rear seat from its sides. The space in the back is sufficient only for one adult and a child, not two adults. This is not an ideal car to go pick someone up from the airport either, as it has barely any room behind the rear seat. However, folding down the rear seat gives 300 litres of cargo space, sufficient to keep grocery bags, a gym bag, and maybe even a few stacks of moving boxes.
A two-tone beige-black colour scheme, a two-spoke, flat-bottomed steering wheel, a rotary gear selector, and a dual cockpit display give the interior a modern look. Although rare in such cars, Vayve Mobility includes a panoramic sunroof in the Eva, enhancing the perceived sense of space, and offers it in the Stella and Vega grades.
The infotainment system has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and supports OTA software updates for convenience. Tech-savvy customers will appreciate a 45-watt USB-C PD port to charge laptops as well, available in the Vega grade. Vayve Mobility has thoughtfully integrated even a fold-out tray table into the left door and a mini refrigerator below the dashboard. The company also offers a dashcam and various connected car functions, such as location tracking, remote diagnostics, and usage analysis.
Vayve Mobility equips the Eva with drum brakes at both ends in the Nova and Stella trims, but it uses a combination of front disc and rear drum brakes in the Vega trim. The Stella and Vega trims have even an auto-dimming IRVM, reverse parking camera and sensors, and LED headlights. The latter adds a driver airbag and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System as well, further elevating safety.
Pricing and availability
Vayve Mobility offers the Eva at an ex-showroom starting price of 3.99 lakh Indian rupees (4,454 euros) in the Nova grade, 4.99 lakh Indian rupees (5,570 euros) in the Stella grade, and 5.99 lakh Indian rupees (6,686 euros) in the Vega grade. The company also gives a BaaS option, which cuts the upfront price to 3.25 lakh Indian rupees (3,628 euros), 3.99 lakh Indian rupees (4,454 euros), and 4.49 lakh Indian rupees (5,011 euros), respectively.
Under the BaaS model, Vayve Mobility charges a monthly battery subscription amount of 1,200 Indian rupees (13 euros), 1,600 Indian rupees (18 euros), and 2,400 Indian rupees (27 euros) in the Nova, Stella, and Vega grades, respectively. The battery subscription cost covers monthly driving distances of 600 km, 800 km, and 1,200 km, respectively, translating to a per-kilometre cost of 2 Indian rupees. The company will charge customers at the same rate for any additional distance they travel.
Vayve Mobility plans to begin deliveries of the Eva in late 2026, meaning customers who pre-book now will have to wait nearly two years, or maybe even longer if the company encounters technical, supply chain, regulatory, or other challenges in-between. The startup, based in Pune (Maharashtra), began its journey and ventured into the electric mobility space in 2021. It also offers a radically designed electric taxi called CT5 with a solar roof, for an ex-showroom price of 5.99 lakh Indian rupees (6,686 euros) onwards.
