Leapmotor already has 450 sales outlets in Europe

The Chinese brand Leapmotor, which formed the joint venture Leapmotor International with Stellantis, is making good progress with its expansion in Europe. Since its launch there in September 2024, the sales network has grown to 450 points of sale in 14 European countries.

With 450 sales outlets, most of which are part of the existing Stellantis dealer network with its 14 brands, such as Fiat, Opel or Peugeot, the company’s annual target of 500 sales outlets is already within reach. Leapmotor International has thus increased its annual target to 600 sales outlets.

The carmaker also provided initial sales figures. More than 1,500 vehicles have been handed over to customers across Europe since September. In Germany, Leapmotor achieved just under 180 new registrations in the final quarter of 2024. The Chinese brand started the new year in January 2025 with 155 new registrations in Germany. However, the figures for Germany should be treated with caution, as the new registrations may also include demonstration vehicles, for example.

Only two Leapmotor model series are currently available in Europe: The T03 is a compact five-door model in the A-segment. It is offered by Leapmotor International starting at 18,900 euros. The T03 has a battery capacity of 37.3 kWh and a range of 265 kilometres (according to WLTP). The C10 SUV is available in the ‘Style’ trim level from 34,900 euros (in France) or 36,500 pounds in the UK. The C10 has a 69.9 kWh battery and 160 kW motor power. It has a WLTP range of 420 kilometres.

Tianshu Xin, CEO of Leapmotor International, sees the European business “on track” and speaks of “a good starting position on which we can build. We want to increase our growth significantly over the rest of the year.” Tianshu Xin expects further momentum from the C10 version with range extender, which will arrive in dealer showrooms in the coming months.

According to Stellantis, dealer interest in Leapmotor is growing noticeably in Germany. Ten new retail partners have decided in favour of the brand since the beginning of the year.

In 2023, Stellantis acquired a 20 per cent stake in Leapmotor to boost its business in China and bring Leapmotor’s electric cars to Europe. They then founded the 51/49 Stellantis-Leapmotor joint venture.
