PowerGo commissions more than 150 charging points in Denmark
The eight HPC charging points with 150 kW, six DC charging points with 50 kW, and 138 AC charging points with 22 kW are available to the public, according to PowerGo. All charging points are located in public places such as schools, sports clubs, daycare centres and municipal buildings. According to the Dutch company, the charging solutions are “tailor-made to meet the needs of EV drivers.”
The largest location is on the N185, Herningmotorvejen, in Ikast. A total of 16 charging points have been installed here, including all eight in the 150 kW power class – according to the press photos, the HYC150 hypercharger from Alpitronic is used. In addition, the 50 kW chargers have been installed in a large central car park, at the town hall and at a school.
All charging points are powered by electricity from renewable sources – but not at a fixed price. PowerGo relies on dynamic pricing in Ikast-Brande: the current charging prices are based on the hourly electricity price and can be found in the ‘PowerGo Charge’ app.
The municipality of Ikast-Brande put the construction of the charging points out to tender, with the Dutch provider emerging as the winner. “Together with the municipality of Ikast-Brande, we have successfully committed to the rollout of charging infrastructure over the past two years,” says Frederikke Fog, Tender manager at PowerGo. “We want to create a comprehensive charging network that is accessible, affordable, and green. The presence of our charging points in public locations throughout Ikast-Brande strengthens the transition to electric driving within the municipality.”
PowerGo has won several tenders in Denmark (partly together with Spirii), the first in November 2022. PowerGo opened its largest HPC site in Europe to date in September 2024. The fast-charging park at Lillebælt on the Danish E20 motorway comprises seven 400 kW charging stations with two charging points each.
