Volkswagen offers £1,000 rebate for ID. models in the UK
The limited-time offer is available for the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, ID.7, ID.7 Tourer or ID. Buzz. Volkswagen specifies that it applies whether the buyers are “paying cash or using finance from Volkswagen Financial Services.” Moreover, people opting for a personal contract plan with VW Finacial Services are eligible for “generous deposit contributions.” In the case of the ID.7 and ID.7 Tourer, they will receive 1,700 pounds. For the ID.5, VW will even contribute 8,900 pounds – on top of the 1,000 pounds off the purchase price.
“We are really excited to offer this £1,000 saving to customers,” said David Hanna, Head of Network Sales at Volkswagen UK. “We know lots of people are thinking hard about swapping their petrol and diesel cars for an electric alternative. We hope this offer helps to dispel any concerns they might have about affordability and persuades them that an award-winning electric Volkswagen is the best possible choice.”
As mentioned above, the offer is only valid until the beginning of March.
Volkswagen announced several minor updates for the ID.3, ID.4, and ID.5 in the UK in November 2024. It introduced new trims and lowered prices in order to generate sales and meet the country’s ZEV quota. The ID.7 line-up received an update there a few months earlier.
Volkswagen mentions in its rather short press release that other incentives still stand. For instance, when purchasing an electric VW, customers can choose between a free Ohme car charger for their homes or £500 of We Charge credit for use at public charge points. Moreover, they have access to OVO’s ‘Charge Anytime’ offer, with OVO being Volkswagen UK’s official energy partner. It allows people to charge their EV at home for 7p/kWh. The energy provider also offers credit worth up to 10,000 free miles to anyone ordering a new electric Volkswagen by 31 March, plus credit worth up to 1,000 free miles on their contract anniversaries for three years.
