Hubject announces partnership with Pionix
The new partners also want to increase the efficiency of the certification process to ensure faster and more reliable EV charging solutions, as Hubject writes. The collaboration will give OEMs ‘access to an innovative testing framework that utilises Hubject’s Plug&Charge ecosystem and PIONIX’s uMWC (Ultra Mega Watt Charger)’. The uMWC is a battery-assisted DC charger specifically designed for developers and test scenarios.
Among the main benefits for car manufacturers, Hubject cites a more intuitive testing process, where certificates should be readily available and easy to install. As OEMs can carry out an update for several vehicle models, development times should be “drastically reduced.” Access to detailed log files and short response times should ensure rapid troubleshooting and resolution of technical problems.
“Our partnership with PIONIX reinforces our commitment to advancing the adoption of Plug&Charge technology. By simplifying the testing process and offering scalable, cross-vehicle solutions, we’re enabling OEMs to bring reliable and secure EV charging capabilities to market faster than ever before,” says Hubject CEO Christian Hahn.
“The uMWC runs EVerest, the leading open-source technology for EV chargers, and makes it easy to test the entire communication process and to simulate various charging scenarios,” added Pionix CEO Marco Möller. “Our joint efforts have one goal: To ensure seamless integration and interoperability for OEMs which ultimately leads to greater reliability and efficiency for the EV industry.”
