Forsee Power to deliver battery systems for Bozankaya
Forsee will deliver its Zen Plus and Pulse 15 battery system for the Turkish bus manufacturer, which will be utilized for its new generation of electric buses. The buses will be available in four lengths, available in 10m, 12m, 18m and 25 metres. The Zen Plus system will be used for the 18- and 12-metre models, while the Pulse 15 system is also capable of fast charging.
Not many technical details were revealed in the announcement, but Forsee writes that the buses can be charged overnight, “or fast charging (in the trolleybus version), depending on the city’s needs and infrastructure.”
Forsee also writes that the battery packs will be manufactured in Chasseneuil-du-Poitou in France, and that is has delivered battery systems for over 4,200 electric buses so far, “cementing its position as the leading non-Chinese innovator in battery systems for this critical market.”
Bozankaya was originally founded in Germany in 1989, before the company moved its headquarters to Ankara in 2003. Today, the company operates a production facility in Sincan near Ankara, where it manufactures underground trains, trams, trolleybuses and electric buses.
The first customer has already been confirmed for the order: Bozankaya revealed an order for 33 trolleybuses, in 12m and 18m models, which will be delivered to the Municipality of Timisoara in Romania.
Just a few days ago, Bozankaya had also reported an order for 70 trolleybuses from Prague, which was interesting as it was expected that the Prague public transport operator DPP would opt for the Czech Skoda Group’s products instead.
