USA: viveEV launches two redesigned DC fast chargers

Texas-based EV charging station manufacturer viveEV says that it has redesigned and reengineered two of its fast chargers - namely, a model with 600 kW and one with 180 kW.

The ‘600 kW Compact Charger‘ is a satellite charger connected to a power cabinet that can deliver up to 600 kW to four dispensers. The company also refers to this set-up as the ‘viveEV 600kW Tron charging system.’

According to the company, the system is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon technology and offers dynamic power sharing for up to four EVs. It is also said to be “the most compact DCFC charger.” It has a footprint of less than one square foot (about 0.09 square metres). Other features include “an efficient airflow system for effective heat dissipation, ensuring reliable performance in various conditions and maximum charger uptime for EV drivers,” viveEV specifies.

The 180 kW fast charger is an all-in-one unit, meaning that it combines the power cabinet and two dispensers. It offers, as the name suggests, up to 180 kW of charging power – or up to 90 kW per port when two vehicles are charged simultaneously. It also goes by the name of ‘180kW Pumpy.’

Both viveEV chargers work with NACS and CCS1 ports. The 180-kW variant even supports CHAdeMO, as viveEV notes in the press release.

“With the launch of our updated 600kW and 180kW DC Fast Chargers, viveEV is taking EV charging to the next level,” said Jason Kim, CEO of viveEV. “Our chargers are not only engineered for speed and reliability but also designed with versatility and ease of use in mind. We’re empowering businesses to provide seamless charging experiences while maximizing their infrastructure efficiency.”

viveEV was founded in 2004. According to the company, viveEV has “over 15,000 chargers deployed globally.” Specifically, it has deployed around 4,800 DC chargers and 9,200 AC chargers, according to the company’s website.
