According to the Austrian logistics company, the introduction of the new electric truck was preceded by extensive preparatory work: “The route had to be analysed and calculated in order to ensure optimum operation with appropriate charging breaks. The vehicle has a range of around 300 kilometres,” Hödlmayr wrote. The company finally settled on an operating schedule, where the electric truck is charged for one hour during breaks between production shifts, and the batteries are then fully charged while it is parked overnight.

“The values of cooperation and teamwork guide our daily work at Hödlmayr. This project has once again shown that we can also rely on our partners,” commented Hödlmayr’s CEO Johannes Alexander Hödlmayr, adding: “I would like to thank Daimler Trucks, the superstructure manufacturer Kässbohrer and the charging infrastructure provider Siemens for their successful collaboration. Together, we have taken an important first step towards sustainable vehicle logistics.”

The electric truck itself comes from Daimler Truck, however, Hödlmayr did not disclose which model it is. The press releases’ pictures suggest that it is probably an eActros 300, which Daimler Truck launched in 2022. The body of the truck comes from Kässbohrer.
