The Polish bus manufacturer offers a total of three low-floor trolleybuses under the Trollino model series – the Trollino 12, Trollino 18 and Trollino 24. Public transport operator TLT Tychy has now opted for the former and ordered 18 units. It is not clear from the press release what equipment the company has opted for in detail.

What is clear so far is that the buses will be equipped with batteries so that they can also run in areas where there are no overhead lines. It should also be possible to charge the electric buses on the overhead line network and at a corresponding charging station in the depot.

According to reports, delivery should be completed by the beginning of 2026. However, this is not the first order from the Polish city for Solaris. Tyskie Linie Trolejbusowe and the commercial vehicle manufacturer can look back on a long-standing partnership. Since 2002, Solaris has supplied 30 trolleybuses and two battery-electric models. Now, 18 more trolleybuses are to follow. In addition to Tychy, Solaris also counts Gdynia and Lublin among its customers for trolleybuses.
