USA: Stellantis delays launch of the battery-electric Ram 1500 REV
So instead, the Ramcharger can be ordered in the US from the first half of next year. Those waiting for a fully electric truck will have to remain patient – according to Stellantis, the Ram 1500 REV will officially launch in 2026.
The Stellantis brand first released the electric pickup’s specs in the summer of 2023, after the model celebrated its world premiere at the New York International Auto Show. The EV will be fitted with dual electric drive modules, each with 250 kW. In total, 481 kW of power can be accessed. The Ram 1500 REV comes with two battery choices: a 168 kWh battery and a targeted range of up to 350 miles (563 km) or a 229 kWh battery with a targeted range of 500 miles (800 km). In the STLA Frame platform, the batteries are incorporated directly into the frame.
The all-electric Ram is also said to support bidirectional charging and will have two V2L ports, one on the cargo bed with up to 7.2 kW and one in the front boot with up to 3.6 kW.
The range-extended Ram 1500 Ramcharger can go up to 690 miles on one charge. It comes with a 92 kWh battery pack abd a 130 kW generator, offering an output of up to 250 kW in the front and 238 kW in the rear.
Both vehicles support bidirectional charging. Acceleration is also the same, as both pickup versions can sprint from zero to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds.
