The goal of the partnership is to offer and help meet the growing demand for open and convenient fast charging. This initiative is supported by Electrify Commercial. Thus, Costco owns and operates the charging stations, which are located in California, Colorado, and Florida. The stations will also be integrated into Electrify America’s network. In its press release, Electrify America also mentions three Costco Wholesale locations in California having hyper-fast chargers, numbering from 10 to 14 at each location, and one location in Colorado and Florida, with six hyper-fast chargers each.

Electrify America says the charging stations are interoperable with almost all electric vehicle brands. Since Costco Wholesale takes ownership of the charging stations, EV drivers will pay for the charging service at a price set by the company. Moreover, customers can employ the  Electrify America app to pay for charging sessions, as the charging stations are part of the Electrify America charging network.

Electrify America is a Volkswagen subsidiary on an expansion course to extend its charging network across the mainland USA. The electric mobility service provider recently launched a new Technology Campus near its headquarters in Northern Virginia. The new facility, which covers 32,000 square feet, is said to have 22 hyper-fast chargers. By the end of 2023, the company had managed to expand its charging network across 47 US states.
