The energy infrastructure company Lynkwell is working with Recharge Alaska, creating a white-label DC charging network for the latter that meets the requirements to function reliably under extreme conditions in Alaska.

The goal of the network expansion and the corresponding app is to provide access to DC charging, even in rural and remote areas in the northernmost US state. Understanding the extreme weather conditions and how they can affect chargers allows Lynkwell to “deliver proactive maintenance and timely interventions.” That is why the company continuously tracks variables such as temperature and electrical performance.

According to Lynkwell, the new network “offers enhanced station management features, offering real-time access to Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) logs, improved visibility into station performance, faster troubleshooting, and more streamlined customer communication and support.” The energy infrastructure company adds that Recarge Alaska will have “greater control and insight into its charging operations through a secure Network Manager dashboard.”

“Our commitment to building reliable and resilient EV infrastructure is crucial to supporting Alaska’s transition to sustainable transportation. By leveraging our advanced software solutions to enhance accessibility to dependable charging options, we are not only reducing carbon emissions but also empowering local communities and fostering economic growth,” said Schuyler Poukish, CEO and co-founder of Lynkwell.

“With our own white-labeled app powered by Lynkwell’s technology, we’ve seen a marked boost in usage and engagement, allowing us to deliver real-time insights, streamline communications, and more autonomy over our fleet,” said Kris Hall of ReCharge Alaska. “This collaboration has empowered us to offer a reliable solution for viewing real-time charger usage, with a user-centred experience, providing a functional EV charging network in Alaska’s toughest locations.”

Lykwell also recently partnered with Hubject to add roaming and Plug & Charge capabilities to Lynkwell’s electric vehicle (EV) charging platform. It gives more drivers access to Lynkwell chargers across North America and Lynkwell customers to other networks also connected to the eRoaming platform.
