Milence, a joint venture between Daimler Truck, Traton Group and Volvo Group, wants to have a total of 70 charging parks in Europe by the end of 2025. The company is now one step closer to its goal, with its first Spanish location now under development in Zaragoza Logistics Platform (PlaZa) in the Spanish region of Aragon. It will be “easily accessible from major transport routes such as the A2 motorway and Zaragoza airport,” says Milence.

The city is also connected to two major TEN-T corridors: the Mediterranean corridor, connecting Algeciras in Spain to Slovenia and Hungary, and the Atlantic Corridor, which stretches from Portugal to the French border and provides access to Northern Europe.

As with previously announced locations, Milence will develop the Zaragoza hub in two phases. It will first offer CCS and will later incorporate additional charging bays with Megawatt Charging System (MCS) chargers.

“I am delighted to see the development of our first charging hub in Spain at the Zaragoza Logistics Platform, a strategic location at the heart of the Spanish logistics industry,” says Milence CEO Anja van Niersen. “Zaragoza’s importance as a logistics hub makes it an ideal choice for our continued investment in Europe’s largest public charging network”.

To hit its target of 70 charging hubs with a total of 570 charging points by the end of next year, Milence would have to open a new charging park every six days on average by the end of 2025. “The road ahead is ambitious, but I am confident that Milence is well positioned to lead this change, working closely with key partners such as the Government of Aragon to make this vision a reality,” says van Niersen.
