Coca-Cola Switzerland orders 177 electric cars from Skoda
Skoda Switzerland says the first 68 of 177 Enyaqs were handed over to Coca-Cola last week. The remaining 109 vehicles will be delivered this year in two separate charges.
Skoda Switzerland does not specify which variants of the Enyaq were ordered – it only mentions a mixture of rear and all-wheel drive. In the Swiss Skoda configurator (as in Germany), only the large 77-kWh battery is listed in various equipment and drive variants. A WLTP range of over 500 kilometres is thus certain. Skoda also writes that the Enyaq meets the needs of Coca-Cola HBC Schweiz AG “thanks to its generous space, ideal range, high charging capacity and attractive price-performance ratio.”
All vehicles are equipped with extensive features, including Matrix LED headlights, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat and numerous assistance systems such as Travel Assist, Predictive Cruise Control and Traffic Jam Assist.
When all 177 Enyaqs are delivered, 90 per cent of the Coca-Cola fleet in Switzerland will be electric, including all field service vehicles. The company will reduce its yearly emissions by 88 per cent or approximately 700 tonnes of CO2.
“By choosing a green fleet, we are once again making a strong statement about our commitment to sustainability. Our goal is to contribute to the vision of a more sustainable world, not only in mobility but across all our activities,“ says Jürg Burkhalter, General Manager at Coca-Cola HBC Switzerland. The beverage company wants to be net zero by 2040.
Yves Salzmann, Key Account Manager at CFS AMAG Import AG, handled the major order – from vehicle selection to financing and fleet management. Arval is in charge of the leasing, while Skoda partner Auto-Trachsler from Wetzikon is involved in the delivery. The vehicles are charged by an AMAG subsidiary, Helion. The ‘Charge:On’ charging and billing infrastructure includes charging at the company, public charging stations, and home with centralised billing. It should make it easier for companies to switch to electric vehicles.
