Renault 5 now available with a smaller battery
The new ‘Evolution’ trim brings the starting price for the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric Urban Range to €27,900. This pricing makes the Renault 5 available for under €30,000. Renault has offered the version with the 52-kWh battery since May, starting at €32,900 or €279 per month. However, the ‘Urban Range’ and the 52-kWh versions differ not only in battery capacity but also in features.
Initially, Renault planned to make the 40-kWh battery available in 2025, but it is already offered with the ‘Evolution’ trim. 2025 Renault will release the entry-level ‘Five’ trim, priced at €24,900. This version will finally deliver on the promise of a “€25,000 electric car.”
In addition to the ‘Evolution’ trim starting at €27,900, Renault offers the Renault 5 with the smaller battery in the ‘Techno’ trim (from €29,900) and the ‘Iconic Five’ trim (from €31,400). In other words, adjusted for equipment, the small battery is only 3,000 euros cheaper; 2,000 euros are due to the more affordable ‘Evolution’ equipment.
