Tesla to bring the Cybercab to Europe
The European tour will kick off in Germany, the UK and France: in Berlin, the Cybercab will be on display at the Tesla Store in the Mall of Berlin from 22 November to 8 December 2024. The Cybercab will also be on display in London and Paris at the same time. However, registration is required to view the Cybercab; the website is linked below this news item.
The three Cybercab vehicles will then be shown in Tesla Stores in Amsterdam, Stockholm and Oslo. Tesla undertook a similar show tour, albeit with significantly more stops, with the Cybertruck in the spring.
Tesla presented the Cybercab at an event in the USA in October. The Cybercab is a two-seater without a steering wheel or pedals that ‘all users can access via the Tesla app’ in the planned Robotaxi service, as Tesla announced. For autonomous driving, the Cybercab will use a similar system to that already installed in today’s models. Tesla is relying on a purely camera-based approach.
As with the presentation, Tesla does not go into the technical details of the Cybercab in the press release for the European tour. All that is known is that the vehicle will not have a conventional charging connection, but will only be charged inductively.
Instead, the manufacturer emphasises its vision of sustainable transport of the future, which must be ‘democratised’. “We are contributing to this by making mobility more efficient, more affordable and safer. Autonomous driving makes this future possible today, as it offers the potential to reduce energy consumption, traffic volume and human error while lowering operating costs,” says Tesla.
