Cadillac presents Vistiq, an electric SUV with three rows of seats
The Vistiq is equipped with two electric motors and all-wheel drive. The system output is 459 kW. Cadillac promises a sprint time of 3.7 seconds from zero to 60 miles per hour (96.6 kph). The maximum torque is 880 Newton metres.
The Vistiq has a 102 kWh battery with a range of 300 miles (approx. 480 kilometres). For a modern electric car built in 2025, that sounds a little meagre. The Vistiq also lacks top values in terms of charging performance: At an HPC charger, the electric SUV can only tap electricity with an output of 190 kW. This means that only 127 kilometres of range can be recharged within ten minutes. Nevertheless, with a corresponding NACS adapter, the vehicle can also be charged at Tesla Superchargers in the USA.
While we’re on the subject of batteries, the Cadillac Vistiq can also be used as an emergency power generator for the home: It is equipped with the bidirectional Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) charging function, which, in conjunction with the separately available GM Energy V2H Bundle, enables the transfer of power from the vehicle to a suitably equipped home during a power outage.
“From the beginning, our team’s goal was to create a three-row SUV that offers exciting performance and intuitive technology wrapped in the brand’s iconic design language,” said Jeff MacDonald, North American Chief Engineer, Cadillac Vistiq. “The Vistiq is bold but refined, offering a comfortable ride while handling like a much smaller vehicle and providing a sense of isolated precision.”
At 5.20 metres, the Vistiq is around half a metre shorter than the Escalade IQ. Like its big brother, the Vistiq has a windscreen that is pulled back and a ‘Black Crystal Shield’ radiator grille. “Vistiq continues the Cadillac EV identity, including our signature vertical lamps front and rear, the illuminated pinstripe grille, a 33-inch diagonal high-resolution LED screen, and available 23-inch wheels, rendered in a proportionally stately and functional three-row SUV,” said Bryan Nesbitt, Executive Director, Global Cadillac Design. “Vistiq helps fulfill our showroom vision to offer the most artful integration of innovation with zero-emission propulsion.”
Production of the Vistiq is scheduled to begin in early 2025 at the GM factory in Spring Hill, Tennessee. The model is to be sold worldwide. The launch date for Germany and the prices in this country are not yet known. Cadillac is quoting a starting price of 78,790 US dollars for the USA.
Meanwhile, Cadillac has also announced that it intends to offer a performance version of its more compact electric SUV Lyriq under the V sub-brand in the future. According to the company, the Lyriq-V, which will be launched early next year, will take the performance profile of the V-series to a new level. It will be offered in selected markets around the world with both left- and right-hand drive, including the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. However, Cadillac has not yet revealed the technical details of the Lyriq-V or the price.
