Monta enables charging reimbursement with Tesla Wall Connector
When drivers charge their company electric car at home, it raises a key question: How can a company transparently reimburse its employees for the electricity charged? The Monta platform offers ‘sponsored charging,’ allowing fleet managers to reimburse employees’ charging costs. It may be a simple task for public charging with a charging card, as charging is automatically billed anyway. However, for home charging, it is necessary to know the employee’s electricity tariff and to have access to the charging activities of the wallbox at home to reimburse them automatically.
To this end, Monta already connected various wallboxes from different manufacturers to its platform. Now, it added the ‘Wall Connector’ from Tesla to the list. After a one-off setup, company fleets can automatically benefit from the automatic reimbursement of costs when employees charge their electric company car at home using the ‘Wall Connector’ via Monta technology.
“With 6 out of 10 new cars being company vehicles, businesses are increasingly seeking efficient solutions for employee charging reimbursement. We’re excited to integrate with Tesla’s Wall Connector which is one of the most popular models in the market. We’re making it easier to transition to electric vehicles and accelerating the green transformation across Europe,” says Casper Rasmussen, CEO and co-founder at Monta.
In addition to charging at home, companies that are Monta customers can also give their employees access to 500,000 public charging points across Europe with Monta. Charging processes at the charging points can also be billed via the Monta platform.
Monta was founded in 2020 and has grown rapidly in recent years. In January 2024, the company received 80 million euros from investors. At the end of October 2024, Monta began its expansion into the US.
