Customers who order the Scenic E-Tech or Megane E-Tech and opt-in for the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff before 16 December 2024, can leverage the partnership between Renault UK, Mobilize and Octopus Energy to receive a one-off charging credit, which is equivalent to one year of free energy. On top of that, the partners claim that customers save hundreds of pounds a year while not paying for the cost of charging at the off-peak rate over 10,000 miles of driving.

“Our collaboration with Octopus Energy is a fantastic demonstration of two innovative brands coming together to advance smart charging technology,” said Rosa Aguirre, Chief Operating Officer at Mobilize UK. “Our ambition is to help customers enjoy the very best electric vehicle experience, and the availability of the specifically designed tariff ensures that we provide an all-encompassing offering that merges award-winning electric vehicles with highly optimised charging solutions.”

Octopus Energy supplies green electricity to EV vehicle owners to charge at a cheap rate of seven pence per kWh. With this new offering, a Renault Megane E-Tech 100% electric owners could save 70% a year compared to a standard variable tariff.

The tariff offer from Octopus Energy is offered with the Smart Charge app from Mobilize, which features an intelligent charging scheduling that allows users to optimise the cost of charging their car at home while reducing their carbon footprint. The Smart Charge app is built with a machine learning-based proprietary software called “Kraken,” which optimises the charge on EV batteries while considering grid capacity, the availability of renewable energy sources, electricity prices, and the user’s charging preferences to help balance the grid, and provide cheap, green energy for customers.

Renault says that the partnership paves the way for customers to take advantage of home charging and Charge Pass offers from Mobilize, ensuring customers enjoy an optimised, fully electric vehicle ownership that is convenient, efficient and cost-effective, whether at home or on the road.
