Silence presents the S05 Weekender electric motorbike at EICMA
Silence has shown up at the EICMA international motorbike trade fair, which is taking place in Milan from Thursday to Sunday, to present its new electric motorbike for the first time. The model, called the S05 Weekender, is designed for everyday use in the city, but is also suitable for short trips on trails, according to the company – although the tyres look more like road use than off-road trails. “While it is not an off-road motorcycle, it is suitable for recreational use as its design allows it to be ridden off-road,” the press release states.
The retail price starts at 3,500 euros. For this, you get a fully electric motorbike with a top speed of 120 kilometres per hour and a certified range of 133 kilometres.
The e-motorbike weighs 94 kilograms without the battery and has ABS brakes and a seven-inch touchscreen. It also has a large storage compartment under the ‘false tank’ for a helmet. Silence also offers a cheaper and slower basic version with a top speed limited to 100 kilometres per hour.
For Carlos Sotelo, Director of the Mobility Department at Silence’s parent company Acciona, the launch of the new Silence motorbike means “having a vehicle suitable for commutes, but also those we make during leisure and rest time. The bike generates no noise or vibrations and respects the environment.”
The company is also presenting two important new products at the Milan trade fair: Firstly, there is the revised S02 scooter, the first version of which was unveiled in 2020. The update was developed both for private customers and for the sharing service that the company offers in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Seville and Valencia.
The 2025 model year S02 scooter has larger wheels for greater stability and safety. It is a robust vehicle that weighs 130 kilograms including the battery and has a compartment under the seat where the helmet can be stored. The S02 scooter, which is available starting from 2,800 euros, is offered in two versions: as an L1e (moped) and as an L3e. The maximum speed is 45 kph and 90 kph respectively, while the range of the more powerful version is 133 kilometres.
Silence will also be presenting the GT-SX, a prototype for a grand touring motorbike that will be equipped with two batteries and have a range of over 200 kilometres. Thanks to a new engine, it will be able to travel on country roads and comfortably reach the maximum permitted speed. Like all GT models, it is a motorbike with a full fairing that provides excellent aerodynamic protection for both the rider and the passenger. The motorbike has a generous storage space under the seat, which can easily accommodate two full-face helmets.
All three new models that Silence is presenting at the Milan trade fair have the same removable battery. This is a standardised feature of all the company’s vehicles, including the S04 Nanocar light vehicle, which has been available from Nissan dealers in Germany since October, starting at 11,995 euros.
