DCS introduces rebates for Toyota and Lexus charging services
There are now three plans for the two charging offers from Toyota and Lexus, which are implemented via DCS. There are no fixed prices at AC or DC charging points for any tariffs, as they vary depending on the CPO. The Go tariff is the basic variant with no monthly basic fee – there is only a one-off activation fee of 9.95 euros. The Active tariff costs €4.95 per month and generally offers a 5% discount compared to the kWh prices for the Go tariff. The Active+ plan offers a 20 per cent discount compared to the Go tariff but costs €14.95 per month.
With the current update, DCS introduces a ‘Preferred Partner Network’ for the Active and Active+ tariffs – but the basic fee remains the same. This means there are higher discounts with ‘preferred’ partners than provided in the tariff. These partners offer a ten per cent discount instead of five per cent for the Active tariff and a 25 per cent discount instead of 20 per cent for Active+.
The ‘Preferred Partner Network’ includes Ionity in all available countries – so there are higher discounts than with other charging operators. Aral Pulse is also a preferred partner in Germany, Eviny in Sweden and Recharge in Norway.
Go | Active | Active+ | |
---|---|---|---|
monthly fee | – | 4.95 € | 14.95 € |
AC | varies* | 5 % discount | 20 % discount |
DC | varies* | 5 % discount | 20 % discount |
Preferred Partner Network | – | 10 % discount | 25 % discount |
For Germany, it means that with the Active tariff, a kilowatt-hour at an Ionity charger costs €0.62, including the 10 per cent discount, while Aral Pulse charges €0.71/kWh. With the more expensive Active+, it is still €0.52/kWh at Ionity and €0.59/kWh at Aral pulse. As the prices vary depending on the CPO despite the discounts, checking the costs incurred in the app before each charging process is advisable.
DCS announced that it will expand the ‘Preferred Partner Network’ to include other charging providers, but also in other markets. “CPOs will be selected based on criteria such as the availability of HPC charging points and the quality of the charging infrastructure. A precise timetable for the expansion of the price reductions has not yet been set. To always offer the best possible charging experience, the selection of preferred charging providers can be adjusted on an ongoing basis,” the press release states.
“With this adjustment, we are improving the price structure and thus also the charging experience for drivers of Toyota and Lexus models. Our goal is to make the use of electric vehicles as easy and convenient as possible while constantly reducing costs for our customers,” says Petr Füzék, Director Business Line OEM at Digital Charging Solutions. “By working with leading CPOs such as Ionity and Aral pulse, we offer exclusive benefits that make the switch to electromobility even more attractive.”
