Tesla starts Cybertruck deliveries in Canada
So far, only the Foundation Series Cybertruck is available in Canada, and it is significantly more expensive than in the US. 138,000 Canadian dollars is roughly 99,000 US dollars. In the US, the electric truck starts at roughly 80,000 dollars, albeit for the non-Foundation series.
Nonetheless, Electrek notes that the Cybertruck does not seem to be in high demand in Canada. Those interested have been able to put in a reservation since August and will thus be the first ones to get their hands on the electric pickup. However, according to the Tesla website, even if one were to order a Cybertruck today, it would be delivered within weeks.
In the US, Tesla has delivered about 40,000 Cybertrucks since it went on sale about a year ago. Though it did not give any specific figures in its last report, the carmaker claims that the electric pickup was its third best-selling electric vehicle in the US in the third quarter – behind the Model Y and Model 3.
Here, too, anyone can order a Cybertruck and receive it within a few weeks. Tesla seems to have thus exhausted its backlog in the US with the delivery of the 40,000 units mentioned above.
