According to the new deal, Kempower will supply its fast-charging solutions to charge point operator ABC-Lataus in Finland. In October, ABC opened Finland’s largest public fast-charging station for electric vehicles in Heinola. The station is equipped with 32 charging points with a total output of 2.4 MW. Kempower delivered 27 high-power charging stations for the park, as well as the remaining charging points.

As ABC states on its website, there are 20 CCS charging points, each of which can deliver up to 400 kW. In addition, there are seven CCS charging points with up to 150 kW and a CHAdeMO charging option that should provide up to 50 kW. There are also four AC charging points, each with up to 22 kW. However, as the total power of the site is 2.4 megawatts and this is distributed dynamically to the charging points, all charging points cannot be used at full power at the same time.

By the end of this year, ABC-Lataus plans to open three more similar large sites with fast charging solutions from Kempower.

“Partnering with ABC-Lataus to expand Finland’s fast-charging network is an important step towards advancing sustainable transportation in the country,” said Antti Jokelainen, Head of Sales, Finland and the Baltics at Kempower, adding: “With 2.4 MW of total capacity, this site demonstrates our commitment to delivering high-performance charging, even during peak demand.”

In addition to the new efforts in northern Europe, Kempower has entered into a sales and service partnership with the Ecoline Group in Turkey. Kempower points out that the Turkish EV market has grown by 94 per cent year-over-year, making the market significantly more attractive. Under the new partnership, Ecoline Group will procure, distribute, and install Kempower’s fast-charging solutions to customers including charge point operators, public transport operators, port authorities, and municipalities.

Kempower has been on an international expansion course of late, setting up fast charging infrastructure in Hyderabad, India, in September, and setting up charging networks in Slovenia and Croatia in the summer together with TurboVolt.
