Einride partners with Catena in Sweden
The “strategic logistics properties” are located along key Swedish transport routes. The first location in Norrköping in the east of the country is already in operation. The second site in Helsingborg on the western coast and close to the Danish border is expected to be in operation by November next year.
In both cases, the charging hubs feature six to eight charging terminals with up to 400 kW. Catena will finance and own the chargers, while Einride will be in charge of their operations. The companies also specified that the charging hub would be open to all electric trucks.
“By offering charging services that are fully integrated with Einride’s platform at Catena’s strategically located properties, we will be able to facilitate more businesses with their transition toward more efficient and sustainable transport solutions. The partnership allows for us to support a faster transition to electrification and to contribute to the decarbonisation of the sector,” explains Mathias Wiecher, General Manager of Energy & Charging Infrastructure at Einride.
“Our partnership with Einride not only increases the level of service for our tenants, but adds functionality to our properties, which allows us to generate new value for society and to contribute to the transformation of a sector where every initiative makes a big difference,” explains Catena’s Head of Business and Property, Johan Franzén.
According to the partners, all hubs will also offer a drivers’ lounge with access to restrooms, showers and a kitchen. Drivers can also monitor the charging process via screens in the lounge.
