As a result of the new cooperation, DKV Mobility’s roaming network is growing by over 1,500 fast-charging options in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, which are connected to the ‘Electric Highway’ of the rapidly expanding operator Gridserve. The charging stations can be used via the DKV Card +Charge or via the DKV Mobility App and have a capacity of up to 360 kW.

The Gridserve Electric Highway comprises more than 1,500 charging points, most of which are located along the UK motorway network, at some of the UK’s busiest retail locations and at Electric Forecourts. Many of Gridserve’s charging points are equipped with 350kW chargers – powerful enough to provide a range of up to 160 kilometres in less than 10 minutes. Gridserve is also planning to introduce a charging network for electric lorries in the future – an exciting topic for DKV, whose traditional fuel cards are widely used by lorry drivers.

Sven Mehringer, Managing Director Energy & Vehicle Services at DKV Mobility, says: “Gridserve’s charge points are powered by 100% renewable solar energy,
which aligns perfectly with our commitment to sustainable mobility. It is our aim to provide cutting-edge eMobility solutions for our customers to drive the transition towards an efficient and sustainable future of mobility.”

Sam Clarke, Commercial Lead of Gridserve, added: “We are pleased to partner with DKV Mobility to enable their business customers to access our Gridserve Electric Highway network with their preferred payment solution. Our mission is to deliver sustainable energy on the scale to move the needle on climate change and with strong partners, we can accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles and make net zero transport a reality.”

Through the collaboration with Gridserve, DKV Mobility’s roaming network will grow to around 827,000 charging points in Europe. Most recently, DKV Mobility integrated 1,300 charging points from Edeka into its network and 550 charging points from Iberdrola | bp pulse in Spain. In addition to on-the-go charging, DKV Mobility also offers charging solutions both for customers’ company sites (@work) and for company car drivers at home (@home).
