Leading Indian ride-hailing platform Rapido has announced a joint venture between IndianOil and SUN Mobility as part of Rapido’s partnership with IndoFast Energy, where Piaggio’s E-City Max electric vehicles will employ SUN Mobility’s battery-swapping technology. The new announcement from Rapido aims to push forward the collaboration between Rapdio and IndoFast Energy ever since their partnership started in 2023.

The latest development in the partnership will see IndoFast install over 100 battery-swapping stations in Hyderabad and more than 200 stations in Bangalore by the end of December 2024. What’s more, it is planned that more than 1,000 EVs across southern India will be pushed out across Hyderabad, Bangalore, and other major cities by the end of 2024, according to the report.

With these swappable electric autos, it is envisaged that the partnership between Rapido and will continue to promote sustainable mobility in the public transport system in India.
