The Ford Mustang Mach-E is becoming cheaper in the US. The 2025 model now starts at $36,495 and finally gets a standard heat pump. Orders will open in "early 2025."

After a series of minor incremental updates, Ford has officially presented the new 2025 Mustang Mach-E to journalists. The most noticeable difference is apparently due to the heat pump, which has taken some of the space from the Frunk. In exchange, it should also greatly improve the vehicle’s range and battery, particularly in colder climates. A new official EPA range rating has not been released yet, however.

On the exterior of the vehicle, new colour options have been introduced, and the front end has been slightly adapted. The new colours include ‘Velocity Blue’, ‘Desert Tan’, and ‘Magenta’.

Some changes have also been made to the interior, such as the gear shifter being moved from the console to the steering column, freeing up some space. Electrek also writes of the decision to get rid of the “polarizing “dial a gear” interface. Immediately this seems like a big improvement.” Software updates have also been included, such as a new automatic lane assistant using “the latest version of available BlueCruise1 hands-free highway driving – BlueCruise 1.5.”

The system is now capable of changing lanes when it detects a slower car ahead, or a vehicle is accelerating behind it. The system is not free, however, and is offered as a one-year free subscription with the GT and Rally versions, while customers opting for the Premium and Select trims will pay $495 annually. A one-time purchase option for $2,495 is also offered. For those unsure, Ford is offering a test period of 90 days.

“We’ve built strong relationships with our customers over the last four years, and continue to make upgrades based on their feedback,” said Donna Dickson, Mustang Mach-E chief engineer. “We’re dedicated to giving them the best version of Mustang Mach-E possible, and that means giving them features they have been asking for, like the new heat pump and more interior space up front.”

Just a few weeks ago, Ford also introduced a free home charger for new electric vehicle purchases and is ramping up production in Mexico. Additionally, Ford is also considering the production of electric vehicles in India, for which a Letter of Intent has already been signed.
