The battery-electric version of the Deepal S05 is powered by a 175 kW motor with 320 Nm of torque at the rear axle. The electric car is equipped with a 56.12 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack and has a CLTC range of 510 kilometres. The top speed is 180 kph and acceleration from 0 to 100 kph is 7.3 seconds. Fast charging with up to 3C is also supported. It takes 15 minutes to charge the battery from 30 to 80 per cent. The electric car is available at a starting price from 119,900 yuan (around 15,500 euros).

The EREV variant is powered by a 1.5-litre range extender system consisting of a 72 kW petrol engine and a 160 kW rear-mounted electric motor. In this case, the LFP battery pack is 27.28 kWh in size and enables a purely electric CLTC range of 200 kilometres. The combined total range of the electric motor and petrol engine is 1,234 kilometres, the top speed is 175 kph and the acceleration time from 0 to 100 kph is 7.9 seconds. With fast charging, it takes 20 minutes to bring the battery from 30 to 80 per cent.

The design of the Deepal S05 follows the brand’s ‘interstellar wing design’ and is available in five different exterior colours. The vehicle is 4.62 metres long, 1.90 metres wide and 1.60 metres high. The wheelbase is 2.88 metres.

The interior is offered in three colours: orange, blue and grey. The cockpit features a 15.4-inch 2.5K centre screen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, an AR HUD and a D-shaped steering wheel. The vehicle operating system is supported by Deepal OS 3.0. The centre console is double-layered and equipped with a 13-litre temperature-insulated storage compartment. The EV variant has an additional 159-litre boot at the front and 492-litre boot at the rear.

All variants of the Deepal S05 are equipped with five high-definition cameras, five millimetre-wave radars and 12 ultrasonic radars as standard to realise advanced driver assistance functions such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and intelligent parking assistance.

Deepal has delivered 300,000 cars to date since its launch in April 2022. The brand also plans to enter Europe this year and is planning its first launch on the continent with the S07 SUV, which is due to go on sale in Norway, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands in the fourth quarter of 2024. Other European countries are to follow in 2025 and 2026.
