Leapmotor announces two more electric cars for Europe

Chinese car manufacturer Leapmotor, which has just expanded into Europe with the help of Stellantis, will present two more models at the Paris Motor Show next week. The new B10 will celebrate its world premiere, and the C16 will make its European debut.

At the end of September, Leapmotor International announced the start of sales in Europe and opened its order books, initially for the C10 SUV and the smaller T03. Now, the company is looking to quickly double its portfolio.

The B10, an SUV of which there are only pictures in camouflage so far and no specific details, is eagerly awaited. It is positioned between the T03 and the C10 and is the first model based on Leapmotor’s new B platform. The prototype images show a boxy design with short overhangs at the front and rear, which could indicate a size-optimised interior. Recessed door handles should improve aerodynamics. “Equipped with the innovative LEAP 3.5 architecture, the B10 introduces cutting-edge smart technology tailored for a new generation of global consumers who are looking for more connected, more sustainable, and bolder new energy vehicles (NEV),” says Stellantis.

The C16, presented in China in January, is making its European debut in Paris. Thanks to its length of 4.92 metres and a wheelbase of 2.83 metres, the SUV offers plenty of space inside, with up to six seats in a 2+2+2 seating configuration.
The C16 has an 800-volt system and a DC charging capacity of up to 180 kilowatts, so the battery can be charged from 30 to 80 per cent in 15 minutes. It is characterised by “a clean exterior and a minimalist and premium interior design.” It also comes with the intelligent infotainment system Leapmotor OS 4.0 and a panoramic glass roof.

Stellantis has yet to communicate exact dates for when it will open the order books for either model in Europe. However, like the T03 and the C10, they will be distributed via Stellantis’ sales outlets in Europe. By the end of the year, Leapmotor International aims to have more than 350 sales outlets outside China.
