eActros 600 delivers beer to the Oktoberfest

The Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 proved that it can also supply big event. The long-haul electric truck transported around 82,000 litres of beer on behalf of the Hofbräuhaus in Munich, delivering it to the Oktoberfest. While long distances were less in demand, the beer-filled electric tanker trailer was an appreciated attraction.

Logistics company Lettl Transporte recently took over the night-time beer delivery for the Staatliches Hofbräuhaus in Munich. It used the eActros 600 with a tanker trailer and a capacity of 27,500 litres. As part of a practical test, the electric truck made its way towards Theresienwiese on three days, always in the evening after refuelling at the brewery. The truck made four stops at the Hofbräu festival tent to ensure the beer ended up in the right kegs.

According to Daimler Truck, the eActros 600 was also used to supply fresh pretzels for the Oktoberfest. The Höflinger und Müller bakery produces pretzels in two shifts in a specially equipped bakery on the Olympic site near the Oktoberfest. The long-established company, which already has two eActros 300s in its fleet, used the Mercedes-Benz electric truck with a refrigerated trailer to transport the baking blanks.

The eActros 600 is not yet a series-production vehicle. In Munich, the company still used units for practical trials. Series production will start at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth at the end of November. The first customer vehicles of the eActros 600 will then be manufactured and registered in 2024.
