The company held events in Madrid on 25 September and Lisbon on 26 September to launch the G6 and G9 electric SUVs and the P7 saloon. Xpeng’s vision for a flying electric car, the X2, was also on show.

Xpeng’s market entry in Spain and Portugal in collaboration with the Salvador Caetano Group, the largest car dealership group on the Iberian Peninsula, represents an important step in the company’s expansion. The Salvador Caetano Group will be responsible for sales in both markets. In Spain, Xpeng has started to develop a sales and after-sales network that includes ten dealerships in major cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Seville and Málaga. In Portugal, Xpeng has opened two points of sale in Lisbon and Porto and plans to expand to seven dealers by the end of the year and 15 by the end of 2025.

“We are deeply committed to the European market, which is undergoing a transformation in electric and smart mobility, and we are excited about our ongoing efforts to expand our presence in the region, as demonstrated by our partnership with the Salvador Caetano Group,” said Brian Gu, Vice Chairman and President of Xpeng.

Xpeng began its expansion into Europe four years ago in Norway. Other countries were then added successively. Xpeng launched in Germany in May 2024. The Chinese company started with the P7 saloon and the G9 SUV in its portfolio, followed by the G6 SUV in September.
