J.B. Hunt Transport Service is growing its fleet of zero-emission trucks. It has added 20 Nikola Tre fuel cell trucks to its fleet. These will primarily be used for port and drayage transport in California.

The freight forwarder already ordered 13 zero-emission trucks from Nikola in 2023, including three FCEVs and ten BEVs. Then and now, the infrastructure for fuelling the hydrogen trucks comes from  Nikola’s H2 brand HYLA, which was launched last year.

According to its own accounts, J.B. Hunt Transport already operates “200-plus alternative-powered equipment vehicles” on behalf of its customers. These include battery-electric and fuel-cell vehicles, as well as gas-powered trucks.

“Our expertise, resources and relationships uniquely position us to help our customers pursue and realize their sustainability goals,” said Greer Woodruff, executive vice president of safety, sustainability and maintenance at J.B. Hunt. “Zero-emission vehicles such as these will help along the path to generate viable, sustainable options that help customers advance their efforts to reduce carbon emissions in their supply chain while also helping J.B. Hunt progress on its sustainability journey.”

J.B. Hunt announced that it wants to reduce carbon emissions by 32 per cent by 2034 compared to 2019 levels.

I lost some money on this stock. I don't see it going anywhere. They need some serious leadership or put up their brand out there.
